Why GoWith?

GoWith was created in response to real frustrations shared by climbers, hikers, and outdoor partners trying to connect online. Traditional platforms like Facebook groups and physical partner boards come with serious limitations: unreliable communication, scattered information, unwanted attention, and outdated tools that don’t serve the needs of today’s outdoor community.

We designed GoWith to solve those problems and provide a better way to connect:

More control and clarity
Instead of blasting a post out to thousands of people, GoWith allows you to connect one-on-one with potential partners. You can choose who you want to climb or adventure with, based on their profile, past activity, and credibility.

Not tied to Facebook or other outdated platforms
A growing number of people are no longer active on Facebook or don’t feel comfortable using it to find partners. GoWith is built as a modern, mobile-first alternative with a focus on simplicity, clarity, and a clean user experience.

Focused on safety and trust
Users can leave a simple thumbs-up after a meetup if their partner showed up, followed through, and acted as expected. If someone gives a thumbs-down, they’ll be required to explain why. Comments are not anonymous and appear on both users' profiles, helping create a more transparent and accountable community.

Inclusive by design
We are building a space where all genders and backgrounds feel welcome. Feedback from women and underrepresented groups in the outdoor community helped shape features that reduce spam, improve privacy, and create a more respectful environment.

Built for multiple sports
GoWith will launch with modes for climbing, hiking, and biking. Skiing, mountaineering, and other activities will follow. You can easily switch between sports in your profile and find partners who share your interests.

Credibility matters
Users build credibility through consistent participation and positive feedback. If multiple people respond to a partner request, those with higher credibility scores appear first. This helps prioritize reliable and experienced partners while still giving everyone a chance.

Regional support and early access rewards
In areas where the app is still growing, users will see a pre-launch mode and be encouraged to invite friends. We plan to offer incentives for helping build a strong local community early on.
